Your personal sculptor is carving a person, thing or event from the last year of your life. What’s the statue of and what makes it so significant?
The sculpture would capture the last few moments i spent with my family on May 2nd before getting on the plane, to leave Nigeria. It was a very emotional moment for us. We had gotten to the airport two hours before my flight was supposed to take off. However, the airline attendants advised for me to go to Lagos with the flight which was leaving in five minutes, rather than the one i was supposed to go with. We had been planning to spend those two hours together in the airport and have some breakfast, but instead, we were forced to say our goodbyes hurriedly. At that moment, tears came to my eyes because i was leaving my family. Even though i’m going to be visiting them from time to time, i wont actually leave with them anymore.
I would love to have the sculpture capture the moment at which we all hugged just before i went through the boarding gate!
